KDW Trivia: Fun Fact #1 - The S.S. Legendary and the Sea

Did you know that the ship called the "S.S. Legendary" was actually one of the first areas added to KDW, before there was even a sea? It was created shortly after Rufus returned home from seeing the 3rd Pirates of the Caribbean movie, and began telling Legend about it. During the conversation Legend pitched the idea to make a pirate ship in KDW, and thus the S.S. Legendary was born.

Originally the S.S. Legendary was cut off from the rest of KDW. To enter you had to either have developer powers, or you would have to have been brought there by a developer. Of course people were brought here freely to role play as a pirate, but it wasn't till much later that it was connected to the rest of the world. Hidden paths were placed around allowing people to access it, but many years later when the sea was added the ship itself appeared close to the main continent for anyone with a ship deed to access.

As for the Sea itself, it was greatly inspired both by the manga and anime series One Piece, as well as an old MMORPG called Tales of Pirates (which was created from Pirate Kings online, and was also inspired by One Piece).
