New IP Address and Changes to Downloads

Hello everyone! It's been quite some time since I've last posted an update here on the blog. As many of you know, KDW is a fan project that continues to remain running for the fans. This means, despite not being actively developed as it was back in the day, we keep it up to date and running for the fans who still enjoy it. Opening back in 2006, KDW has been a part of a lot of people's childhood, and because so many people grew up with it, we want to keep it going for as long as we can. Heck, it's already been 16 years! I was only 14 going on 15 when this project started up, and now it's been more than half my life that it's been going... So yeah! We don't plan on fully shutting down anytime soon. Of course, that's not to say we don't welcome new members as well! Personally it's my hope that many more new fans will continue to enjoy KDW as well, just as everyone who came before them did in years past...

But anyway, that's all besides the point.

The point of today's post is to let everyone know that the KDW server has been relocated, and due to this the IP address has changed. The new IP has been added to the "Patches" section under downloads -- but even this too has changed. In the past we required members to join our forums to access KDW's download page, but when the forums shut down we simply put the link here on the website. However, considering how big Discord is now days, and the fact that most of our members are Discord members as well -- we will now be requiring a Discord membership and access to our server to access the download page. This will not only allow us to stay in contact with future members of the KDW community, but it will continue what KDW is all about. It is a virtual community, where fans of all ages can meet, and have fun. Discord brings us together even without KDW's virtual world, but of course thee virtual side will continue running as well.

Anyway, feel free to head on over to our Discord to get the latest game update! We have also posted the new IP address there as well. Thanks!

Direct X7 Fix is Now Live

This one comes from our friend Blaui! For some newer PCs with the later versions of Windows, KDW is completely unplayable due to issues with Direct X7 no longer being supported. If you are one of those who have come across this, the below fix should take care of it:

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B9-1w8To9VBNdmIyclFKQ2NsYkU

This very same file is also listed under the main KDW download folder in our download section, and can be found under the "KDW Fixes" folder.

Simply download the zip folder, and follow the instructions (also provided by Blaui) inside.

Note: Although this fix is directed at those experiencing Direct X or Active X errors within KDW, it may solve other errors as well. If you are having problems getting KDW to run, it is recommended that you try this step as well.

Server Restart Information and Times (Sending Login Glitch)

Having issues logging into KDW? Well, hopefully this will help you understand what is going on.

One of the most common log in problems is the "Sending Login Information" bug. This occurs when the server has experienced an error, and has yet to fully shut down but is also no longer running. The client will connect, a Login screen will appear, and you will sit there. Sadly there is no way for this issue to be resolved on your end, and you will have to wait for the server to restart. Below are time tables that this server restart may occur -- if KDW goes offline before these times it will remain offline until then (keep in mind these times are not set in stone, and the server may not always be rebooted at these times). We are sorry to inform you of this, but we wanted everyone to understand and not worry.

Server Restart Times:
(Note: All times listed are in U.S. Central Time)

Monday - 6:00 AM, 6:00 PM - 11:30 PM
Tuesday - 6:00 AM, 6:00 PM - 11:30 PM
Wednesday -  6:00 AM, 6:00 PM - 11:30 PM
Thursday -  6:00 AM, 6:00 PM - 11:30 PM
Friday -  6:00 AM, 6:00 PM - 11:59 PM
Saturday - 9:00 AM - 11:59 PM
Sunday - 9:00 AM - 11:30 PM

Windows 8 & 10 Install Guide

To install Kirby's Dream World on a PC running either Windows 8/8.1 or Windows 10, please follow these steps. It isn't quite the same as installing it on an older OS, but the setup is pretty straight forward.

Step 1: Download and Save the Game

Simple enough. Go to the DOWNLOAD page on our website, and download the latest version of the game. (We recommend saving it in a location that is easy to remember -- such as "My Documents."

Step 2: Extract the Game Files

Once the game is downloaded, right click on the zip folder and go to the extract option. This process should only take a few seconds, and once it is done you may delete the original zip folder.

Step 3: Run the SET_UP File as an Admin in Compatibility Mode

After extracting the files, open the newly created Kirby's Dream World folder, and find the "SET_UP" file. This file installs key runtime files required for programs created with VB6 (in other words, Kirby's Dream World), but when using Windows 8 you cannot install it as you normally would.

Instead of double clicking the file and installing it, you will need to run the install as an Admin, and in Windows 7 Compatibility mode. To do this, right click the SET_UP File, and go down to "Properties." Once here, look for the tab labeled "Compatibility," and click on it. On this screen, check the box that says "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and then use the drop down menu below to switch it to "Windows 7." Once you have done this, look at the bottom of the window, and check the box that says "Run this program as an administrator." Once both boxes are checked, hit OK, and double click the program to install it.

Note: If you have ever installed these files in the past, you should not have to do it again. This is a one time install.

Step 4: Run the Windows Fix as Admin in Compatibility Mode:

Just as with the SET_UP Files, the Windows Fix is another EXE file you'll have to run as an Admin and in Compatibility Mode. Simply right click it, and follow the steps you did above (right click, select properties, click compatibility, check compatibility and use the drop down to select Windows 7, and check the Admin option at the bottom). Once you have done this, simply run the Windows Fix and you will be finished. This file makes minor changes to your PC so that it can run VB6 programs such as Kirby's Dream World, and is something you only have to do once.

Step 5: Play!

Once everything is installed, double click on the "Client" folder, and run the Kirby's Dream World EXE file. Kirby's Dream World should start, and you'll be ready to go. Just use the menus on the left side to create an account and log in, and you are set.

If you have followed the above steps, yet you are still having issues getting Kirby's Dream World to run -- the following are some things you can try to hopefully resolve the problem. If you are still having issues after trying each extra step below, please feel free to ask for help over at our forums.

1. A simple extra step you can try is to run Kirby's Dream World in Windows XP Compatibility mode. Just as before, right click the program, go to properties, click on the compatibility tab, check the box near the top, and use the drop down to select Windows XP.

2. Install Service Pack 6 for VB6 Runtime Files. These files are not included in the Kirby's Dream World download, but they can be found over at the official Microsoft website (along with our supplied files):
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=24417

3. Try running both the SET_UP, and Windows Fix outside of compatibility mode as well. Although this has only been required for a handful of people, at times both files need to be ran in both Windows 8 mode, and in Windows 7 Compatibility Mode. If this is the case, go back to properties for both, and uncheck the Compatibility Mode box before running the files again. (If this does not work, as an extra step you may want to consider doing this for the Service Pack 6 files listed above as well.)

4. Install the SET_UP files in SysWOW64 instead of System32. When running the SET_UP File you'll be given the option of where you want to save them. By default these will go to System32, but in some rare cases users have had to change this to "SysWOW64" instead. To do so, simply click browse, go back one folder level, and select SysWOW64 which is located directly under System32.

Windows XP/Vista/7 Install Guide

To install Kirby's Dream World on a PC running Windows XP, Vista, or 7, it is quite easy. Just follow the following simple steps, and you'll have it up and running in no time.

Step 1: Download and Save the Game

Simple enough. Go to the DOWNLOAD page on our website, and download the latest version of the game. (We recommend saving it in a location that is easy to remember -- such as "My Documents."

Step 2: Extract the Game Files:

Once the game is downloaded, right click on the zip folder and go to the extract option. This process should only take a few seconds, and once it is done you may delete the original zip folder.

Step 3: Run the SET_UP File:

After extracting the files, open the newly created Kirby's Dream World folder and double click on SET_UP.EXE to install core runtime files required to run programs made with VB6 (in other words, Kirby's Dream World). If you have ever installed these files in the past, you should not have to do it again. This is a one time install.

Step 4: Run the Windows Fix (Windows Vista and Windows 7 ONLY):

If you are running Windows Vista or Windows 7, double click on the "Windows Fix" file located next to the SET_UP.EXE, and run it. This file makes minor changes to your PC so that it can run Kirby's Dream World. Windows XP users do NOT need to run this as Windows XP has these settings turned on by default.

1. Try running the files as administrator, including the SET_UP files. To do this simply right click on any EXE file, go to properties, and under the compatibility tab you will find the option to run it as an administrator. While you normally shouldn't have to do this, in some cases it is required.

2. Install Service Pack 6 for VB6 Runtime Files. These files are not included in the Kirby's Dream World download, but they can be found over at the official Microsoft website (along with our supplied files):
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=24417
(Note: feel free to apply step 1 to these files as well. Again it normally isn't required, but you may need to run them as an administrator.)

KDW Field Guide (About the World of KDW)

Kirby's Dream World Field Guide

Welcome to the Kirby's Dream World Field Guide. Here you will be able to find basic information over key parts of the game. This information will range from key characters, cities, and many other key parts of the game. This guide is only meant to help you understand KDW and it's world. It is not a FAQ.

The Characters of Dream World:

Legend the Legendary Star Warrior:
Legend is a star warrior from legends, in fact that is even how he got his name. Many people told stories of a white star warrior that flies from planet to planet on the legendary dragoon.

One day a light shot across the skies of Dream World. Many people thought that it was only a shooting star but that was not the case. On that day a white star warrior was found at what seemed to be a crash sight, also along with the white star warrior was none other than the dragoon. It was none other than Legend. Until this point in time Legend had no true name, he was only known as a legend and because of that people started calling him "Legend." At first Legend stayed on the world only to study the area, and then left soon after. However after Kirby vanished from the world, Legend came back to Dream World to help fight against the new group known as Shade.

Legend appears to be a normal white star warrior, but he also has the power to transform upon eating his Dragoon. Once he does this he gains armor, a sword, and even wings. Although Legend normally stays in his normal mode, he will sometimes use this form when needed.

Rufus:
Rufus is the king of a land known as Duck Land. Not much is known about this king, but he and his duck army rule Duck Land. Rufus appears to be a pot, but if he is really is the pot, or if he is just inside of it is still unkown.

Rufus has helped the world grow with his use of the Duck Army, but during war times he has been known to destroy what ever gets in his way. If pushed beyond the limmits, there is no telling what he and his Duck Army would do.

Legend met Rufus shortly after he arived in Dream World, and they soon became friends. Rufus is also known to appear at just the right time and cause chaos, but everyone loves him for that and everyone looks forward to seeing what he will do next.

Dr. Killjoy: Dr. Killjoy is a scientist who took over a small island located north of Cappy Town. This island used to be a large island filled with a lot of wild life, however this all changed once Killjoy took over. Now the island is a huge city with no wildlife what so ever.

Killjoy is a friend of Legend's and he also helped make many of the weapons found in Cappy Town,however many of these were lost after a few years of battle. Although Killjoy is a friend of Legend's, him and Rufus do not see eye to eye.

Legend met Killjoy just a bit before he started his city. Although Legend felt that the island was a nice place, he also knew that this city could be of very good use in the wars that were about occure. Not only could supplies be bought there, but it also provided a place for many people to live.

The Storm of Evil:

Shade:
Shade is an evil group of Nightmare leftovers that showed up to attack Dream World. When Shade first came they took over the world by force and even captured Kirby. After hearing about this Legend headed to Dream World to stop them. Shade vanished after Dark Matter attacked, but returned once more a few years later to pick up where they left off. (Note: The Nightmare was destroyed before the events in KDW. This is why Shade is known as "leftovers.")

Dark Matter:
Dark Matter is a cloud that came to Dream World with the same ideas of Shade. When Dark Matter came to Dream World not only did they attack the world, they also removed Shade from it. Once Shade was out of their way they went on with their plans of taking control of the world. After months of fighting, Legend finally destroied Dark Matter with the use of the Golden Star.

Grave:
Grave is an evil group that attacked Dream World and took many areas for them selves, one of which being the Waddle Dee village. Although Grave's time was short lived, they managed to do major damage. Many of the areas they attacked will be lost forever.

The Villans of KDW:

King Dedede:
King Dedede is thel king who rules over Dream World. Dedede doesn't really care about his kingdom, and only uses his power to do what he wants.

When Shade first attacked Dream World, King Dedede took over the town known as Hill Side Town. The reason for him doing this is still unknown, but no one dares take it back from him. Not even Legend.

Forte:
Forte is the leader of Grave. He came to Dream World in order to take Legend down and take the world for himself. He was a very strong fighter and did whatever it took to reach his goals. Before disappearing Forte took control of many areas, and did major damage to the world. Where he is now is unknown.

Sharp and Slash:
Sharp and Slash were two of the elite members of Shade and the ones in charge of controling the forest. They vanished after Dark Matter attacked, but returned a few years later.

Julious:
Not much is known about Julious other than that he was a part of Shade. After Shade vanished Julious also went into hiding and only appears at night to pray on innocent people.

Water Hazard:
Another member of Shade who still hides out in the underwater passages. He is one of the few remaining Shade members in the world.

Clone Kirby:
Clone Kirby was said to be a perfect copy of the real Kirby, however that turned out to be a lie. No one knows what Clone Kirby came to Dream World for but ever since he appeared things have went from bad to worse. Clone Kirby vanished with out a trace and has never been seen since.

Key Cities:

Cappy Town:
Cappy Town is the center of Dream World. The town is a nice sized town with shops, cafes, hotels, and even a battle arena. The town is the home to many of the warriors who came to fight, and also the home to many Waddle Dees, and other creatures that lost their homes elsewhere.

Ice Town:
A small town that is frozen over. Eventhough Ice Town is only a few miles north of Cappy Town, it still uses it's own type of money.

Hill Side:
Hill Side Town is located near Dedede's castle. This town used to be a happy place but King Dedede has taken it over. Sadly after this happened everyone lost their will to fight, and because of this the town is still under his control.

Duck Town:
Duck Town is the key city and only city in Duck Land in which Rufus rules over. The town is very small but it does have some important places. Duck Town is the locaction for Duck Castle, and the Duck Labs. Both of these placesand must be protected at all times.

Pie Town:

A town ruled by the King KING. Pie Town is one of the most well known towns and is home to many different types of creatures. Although Pie Town is normally piece loving town, if you get on their bad side you'll know it.

Lava Town:

Lava Town is one of the older towns that can be found in Dream World. In the past it was a hot spring of sorts, but over time that changed. Today Lava Town is a Ghost Town which a few stray monsters claimed for themselves.

Future City:

Future City was a city that tried to break away from the past. The only way to reach the city was by train, and a passport is needed to even enter the gate. However getting a passport isn't as easy as it sounds. Even so this city is willing to let anyone in who is willing to go through the trouble of TRYING to get in. The city isn't much along the of a "city" per say, but there are some useful items that can be found here. It's worth the trouble in the end.

Doomenstein:

Doomenstein is another tech based city, but this one actually floats on the ocean. Taking the place of a once grassland island, Doomenstein is a huge city made form metal and steal. In this city many people live in apartment buildings, and work in labs.

Other Towns:

Dream World is made up of many areas and cities. Each city has its own purpose in the world which makes them worth traveling to. Just remember that not all cities can be found on the mainland, others, such as Yoshi's Village, can be found on other islands! So make sure you explore as much as possible when hunting for these special areas.

Easteregg Areas

Green Hill:

Green Hill is an island that can only be gotten to by ship. The island is filled with robots, as well as cute little creatures known as "chao." Besides the grassy fields in Green Hill, there is also a portal that can send you to a town known as Station Square.

The Great Fox:

The great ship that's the home of the Star Fox Team. This ship flies through the air in order to protect the galaxy from any dangers. It is said that this ship has a link with Dream World and can be boarded if you go to the "highest" part of space. The Great Fox also has links to other planets which are free to explore... If you're brave enough that is.

Yoshi's Island:
An island that can only be boarded by air. Yoshi's Island is filled with the lovable creatures known as "Yoshies." The air is great here, and so is the sun. The perfect place for a vacation!

Other Easteregg Areas:

KDW has many eastereggs but it's up to you explorers to find them. Just keep looking and you might be shocked at what you find. Who knows? You might even find Princess Peaches castle someday!

Creatures of Dream World:

Waddle Dee:

A Waddle Dee is a peace loving creature that lives in dream world. They spend most of their days walking around and having fun. Most Waddle Dees are tame and rather enjoy their little walks, but if attacked they will fight back. The Waddle Dees used to all live at King Dedede's castle, but after the king went mad many fled to other parts of the world. Waddle Dees come in many different types. Normally a Waddle Dee is red, but there are a few exceptions such as the blue Tuff Dee. Waddle Dees live allover the world and can be found just about anywhere.

Waddle Doo:

A Waddle Doo is almost just like a Waddle Dee, however these creatures love to fight. With the ability to shoot a beam out of their eye, they attack unsuspecting people and have fun doing it. Waddle Doos can either be born as Waddle Doos, or they can be Waddle Dees infected with Dark Matter. Just like the Waddle Dee, Waddle Doos can sometimes be other colors. Waddle Doos normally hang out in field areas with Waddle Dees.

Gordo:

Gordo's are a spiked ball monster that can be found all over the world. Gordos do not attack, but they cannot be harmed either. They simply just live their life the way they want, and worry about nothing.

BrondoBurnt:

These creatures mostly spend their time waiting for pray to walk by. Often BrondoBurnt's will sit in high places and wait for their pray and then dive down and attack. However sometimes they can be seen just flying around. BrondoBurnt's aren't something to mess with unless you are sure you can take them. They are often found in the Seaside fields.

Poppy Bros Jr:

Poppy Bros Jr is a smaller version of the monster known as Poppy Bros. These little creatures like to walk around Seaside fields and attack what ever comes by. Normally they just kick to attack, but they are also fond of bombs. Although they like the Seaside fields, they will sometimes be seen in other areas as well.

Crab:

Crabs are normal animals that can be seen walking around in sandy areas. Normally they will not harm you, but if they are attacked, they will attack back.

Kabu:

Kabu's are rock monsters that normally appear in the desert and sometimes in caves. They will attack on sight and can be very strong. Kabus are said to be able to see the future and they use this power to know when to attack. There are different forms of Kabus, but they usually all stick together.

Bio Spark:

Biosparks are a group of ninjas that will take out anything that gets in their way. They are not bound to one area, and some are stronger than the others. Weaker Biosparks are normally found in the desert areas, but their stronger bandit friends can be found in ruins. Either way, Biosparks are not to be messed with unless you are strong enough to take them.

Rockey:

Rockies are normally found in rocky areas such as mountains, caves, the desert, etc... Usually they will just sit around doing nothing all day like a real rock, but when they spot an enemy, they will attack. Some rockies are stronger than others so you have to really watch out for them.

Chillie:

Chillies are snowmen like creatures that love to be in cold places. They use their breath to freeze their enemies, and sometimes even the area around them.

Gim:

Gims are creatures that spend their lives zooming through the air with the use of their jet packs. Gism normally are peaceful creatures but they will defend themselves if needed. Gims can be seen in a lot of different places but rumors have it that there is a group of Gims that only stay in Ice Town.

Lunar Knight:

A Knight of King Dedede. After the King went on his rampage many of these fled to outside areas. Although they are no longer with the king, they still love to fight.

Knuckle Joe:

Knuckle Joes are fighters that travel the lands in order to become the strongest things alive. They can be found all over the world, and will attack anything they see. Many Knuckle Joes have traveled to Mt. Dyna hoping to fight the Dyna Blade.

Bomber:

Bombers fly in the clouds all day long and that's about it. Normally Bombers are friendly, but if you make them mad they will attack. Rumor has it that Bombers hold quite a sum of money on them. Maybe if you attack them you can get it for your self!

Plasma Wisp:

Often called "Sparkies," Plasma Wisps are creatures that are fully made out of electricity. These creatures come in different forms, some stronger than others, and can be found in many different parts of the world. Due to the fact that they are made out of electricity, it's best not to touch them.

Firey:

Much like the Plasma Wisps, Fireies bodies are not solid, but instead made out of fire. They often can be found in hot places, but sometimes in rocky areas as well. Many people have reported that the cave near the woods is overrun with them.

White Shy Guy:

These creatures are rare and no one is sure where they even came from. However one thing for sure is that they are not of this world, and if you manage to take one down, you will be rewarded with a lot of EXP.

Other Creatures:

There are many other creatures in the world of Dream World. Some of these creatures are simply stronger versions of others, but others are a species of their own. So keep an eye out as you explore the world. You never know what you might find.

Legend's Guide to Becoming Stronger Faster

--------
Intro:
--------
Hi everyone! This is Legend, and this time I'm here to bring you a guide on how to get stronger faster at earlier levels. After noticing some people having some probs with this I decided to make this guide. Anyway lets get starting.

--------
Level 1-10
--------
Level 1-10 can go by VERY fast if you get lucky. Before you start grinding on Waddle Dees go to the map north of the Hang Out and see if there is a "White Shyguy" there. If there is KILL IT! It will take about two hits to kill, and it will kill you once but after you die just run back to the map and get the final hit on it. This will give you 5 levels right away making you level 6.

Ok so now you are either still level 1 (because you couldn't find a White Shyguy) or you are level 6. Now the only thing left to do is grind on Waddle Dees, Tuff Dees, and Waddle Doos. Also remember while grinding on these monsters make sure you pick up every apple and star you see. You need to get quite a bit of money if you want to become strong fast.

However before you actually start buying real items, it's always a good idea to stop by the newbie shop (located north from Cappy Town Square) and grab the starting items. Just make sure you grab a few stars from the Hang-Out/Green Greens before you go.

Note: White Shyguys can be found at
1. Fields (north of Hang Out)

2. Sea Side fields area 2 (At level 1/low levels just go to the right side of the beach and run down two maps. Chances are you will be able to out run the NPCs and somehow find a way to kill the White Shyguy).

3. South of Ice Town Shop (For this one go to the map right outside the Arena in Cappy Town. Next go left two maps and then go north. You will have to go threw a cave with a locked door however. The good news is you just step on the mushrooms to open the door. Once the door is open run threw it, go north past the map with the frozen pond, and it should be there.)

4. The far left side of the woods. (This one can be tricky to get to but if you're fast, you can make it there without being attacked.)

5. The Desert. (The easiest way to get this one is to be a Knuckle Joe. This one is located five maps to the right from the Hang out. If you are Knuckle Joe, as soon as you hit the first desert area, walk up the wall of the cliff and make your way right. Not only will you be safe from monsters, but it's easier than walking as well. Once you see the White Shyguy, try leading the Kabu's away from it so you can kill it without worry.)
--------
Weapons to help you out
--------
When you are killing the Shyguy's/leveling up on normal monsters, you might want to get some better weapons just so you can kill them faster. Right now there are really a few different weapons you can easily get.

Besides the weapons that can be found in the newbie shop, you can also find sticks behind the trees in the first woods map. This map doesn't have any monsters that will attack you so you'll be able to hunt for them without worry. The stick isn't the best in the world, but it does do extra damage that can be very helpful. Just remember it breaks after a few uses.

Another weapon that you can go for is actually a random one. When killing the Dees you might get lucky and find a Sword. This sword is somewhat like the sword from the shop, but it's a little bit stronger. The only downside to this sword is that it breaks after so many uses. Still it'll help you out early on.

The easiest weapon to get at this time is actually found down the hole in Cappy Town Square. The hole isn't visible but you should be able to spot some boards on the ground. Simply step on the boards and you'll be taken to an underground cave. Really you are MUCH to weak for this area, but in the first area you should see a sword to pick up. Note: Your stats may be too low to equip it right away.

The final weapon that can be gotten at this part is one of the hardest to get. Every time you kill a Waddle Dee you have a 1/100,000 chance of getting a Legendary Blade. This blade has 10,000 attack power which is the highest in the game. If you get lucky you might just get it someday.
--------
Level 10
--------
Ok so you are now level 10. Either you grinded or killed White Shyguys to get this far. Either way you are here. Now is the time that you should worry about getting items. Right now the goal is that you save up 200 stars. Once you get 200 stars to go the normal Cappy Town shop and buy the "Steel Kirby" armor (it should be the 3rd one listed). This armor will really help you out right now.

The next thing you want to get is the Ice Sword from Ice Town which can be in the shop north of where the White Shyguy appears. (Read above on how to get there). The only thing about this shop is that it uses a different type of money, but the good news it is easy to get.

On the way to the shop you should notice blue balls on the ground. This is the money that the shop takes, and you will need 50 of them. If you pick up all of the ones you see in the map with the White Shyguy you should have just about enough. If not go a map up into town, and look around there a bit for them. They are all over Ice Town so it will not be hard to get the 50 Ice Chips.

Once you get the 50 Ice Chips go into the Shop (which is in the map North of the White Shyguy Map) and buy the Ice Sword there. This sword will REALLY help you out. This sword is just as strong as the Flame Sword, except its element is Ice, and it is cheaper than the Flame Sword (which is 1000 stars....).

---------
Blast Items
---------
Another thing you want to try and get to once you are level 10 is the Blast Items. These items are very strong and will really help you out earlier on in the game. To get these you will need to run though wam bam cave which chances are you will get killed in 1 hit by any monster there. However if you time it right and are a quick thinker you should be able to get threw there and get to the blast items.

Hints:

1.Before you head into the cave you might want to change your spawn point to the closest one there. Just outside the cave you should see a Car on the water. Walk into the the car and you will be taken to another island in which you will see a spawn point right away. Step on it then step back into the car to get back.

2. Go in a party or with someone who can kill OR tank the monsters. If they can distract the monsters you will easily be able to sneak by with out getting hit. So try going with friends!

Guide:

(Wam Bam Cave is located a map to the east from the cafe. Once you are in this map go south down the passage which has the sign next to it.)

1. First walk into the cave. The first room will be 100% safe and have a path to the right and a path just south of where you came in. Go to the path to the south.

2. Now you are in room 2. You CAN be killed in this room so you have to move fast and stay away from any monsters around you. In this room there is a path to the left and a path south once again. This time you want to take the path to the left. (Note: it is good to be in a party when going though here. That way your party members could fight the monsters while you get by).

3. Now after going left you will be in the room with the items. You should be able to see them at the far left of the screen somewhat near the bottom corner. You now just have to make your way around the monsters and get to them! So once again it is good to be in a party, but it is possible to get to them on your own. You just need to think fast and run for it!

--------
Blast Stats
--------

The stats of the Blast items may seem low but they really give you a lot of HP which REALLY helps you out at lower levels. Plus the extra stats help you out even if they are a bit low!

Blast Shield:
Adds
50 HP
150 MP
8 SP
10 STR
5 DEF
8 MP
8 Speed

Blast Helmet:
Adds
200 HP
100 MP
8 SP
8 STR
10 DEF
8 MP
8 Speed

Note: you will need about 20 Attack and 15 Defense to put these items on. If you are a Knuckle Joe you will be able to get these stats a lot faster than say if you are a Gooey. However if you have gotten the items I talked about above (Steel Kirby, and Ice Sword) you should have just about enough of both stat because each of them items add +10 or so into your stats.

---------
Lighting Bow:
---------
The Lighting bow is the strongest early EARLY on weapon that just about any level will be able to get. To get this you will have to go on the World Trade Quest.

To start a World Trade Quest head to the map with the court room and jail house, then go west. This next map is filled with strong NPCs but chances are you will be able to make it around them (if not bring help). Now once you are in this map try to make it in the building at the upper left. Once inside go to the desk and it will open a shop. In this Shop get both items (they are free).

Now that you have the items they will have clues on them telling you where to go. Once you find where to go, step into the shop and click on "other". This is where you will be able to trade that item for the next one.

After a long line of visits at the end you will get a broken cup which you can trade in at any place that has a neely's bar for the specail bow.

Note: you will need to go to the old book shop which is in hill side town. The key for this can be found in a maze in Sky Way, and outside of the Maze building is a blinking red dot. By going in there you will be able to get to future city which will bring you out at Hill Side Town. This is the safest way to get there and you will not have much of a worry of dying.

---------
Master Emerald Blade:
---------
This Blade is one of the strongest in the game but you will need a lot of help getting it (unless you are a high level).

To get this blade you will have to find the 7 Chaos Emeralds and then head to a secret room that is located in one of the caves. (This guide will not revile which one).

With this Blade you will be able to kill just about anything no matter what level you are. The only prob is that your defenses will still be weak so you might get killed in 1 hit.

Emerald Locations:
1. Behind Tree in Hang Out
2. Behind Tree in Woods
3. Behind Angel in Cappy Town Square
4. Behind Water fall at Lake Duck
(As for the other 3 you'll just have to find them on your own )

Once you get these 7 Emeralds head to the hidden room and take take down the guards to get to the blade. You may need help with this so bring friends.

--------
Others:
--------
There are MANY MANY MANY other strong items in the game but I'll leave them for you to find. So good luck everyone!

Basic Boss FAQ

Here are a few hints on fighting bosses.

1. Fight them in a party-It is best to fight bosses in groups. Not only will you most likely do more damage to it, you have a lower chance of dying.

2. Use the area around you-
Make use of whats around you. If there are things you can hide behind, then hide behind them! Also if you are a Knuckle Joe try climbing on walls and using long range attacks.

3. Use long range attacks-
(As I said above) Use long range attacks when ever you can. This will keep you from getting hit, and sometimes you can stand in areas that bosses cannot get to and you will still be able to hit them!

4. Use skills-
Skills hit the highest and can get around Bosses defenses. Just make sure you stock up on MP healing items.

5. Use Full Shields-
Full Shields block 1 hit for you. They get destroyed with in one hit, but its better to lose a shield than lose your life. So make sure you stock up on these and put them on to keep from getting hit.

6. Run!-
Put on a full shield, use long range attacks, run. If you get hit just put on another full shield and keep on running! This may be one of the best ways to get around Bosses!

Step 21 - Make your way through the secret maze.

Step 22 - Use the key and claim your prize.

=========================
The Reward:
=========================
The reward of this quest is one of the biggest rewards in the game. Once you finish the quest your level will be reset to level 1, however all your stats will remain intact. What does this mean? Well lets say you reach level 500 and you're stats are as followed.

Atk: 1000
Def: 500
Speed: 30
Magic: 0

If you finish the Legendary Test you will keep these stats and be able to relevel up to 500. To put it simple, this allows you to be able to max all of your stats.

Just keep in mind that the rewards are greater depending on what level you decide to do this at.

Kirby's Dream World Quest List

The following is a list of some of the "major" current quests found in Kirby's Dream World. Keep in mind new are being added all the time, and this list may or may not cover them.
===========================
Chaos Emerald Quest:
For this quest you just need to get all 7 chaos emeralds then figure out the secret behind them. To start this quest just pick up an emerald.
===========================
Book Repair Shop Key:
A very small quest. Simply complete the little maze in the house in Sky Way to get the key to the Book Repair Shop.
===========================
Old Book:
The old Book quest is where you have to collect 50 "old pages" that are hidden all over KDW. Once you get the 50 pages you will then be able to repair the book by taking it to the book repair shop in Hillside town. However, this is only half of the quest. Once you finish the full quest you will get a passport to the ran down cyber city.
 ===========================
Hillside Key Quest:
A quest which takes you around Hillside Town finding keys and unlocking doors.
===========================
Balloon Ticket Quest:
A small little quest which has you get an apple so you can get off of Yoshi's Island. It's not really a main quest, but it's very important if you want to get off the island.
===========================
The Ruins and the Ocarina of Time:
This quest is actually a Maze but it's one of the major mazes/quests so I'll go ahead and include it on this list. To start this quest, simply go to the ruins in the desert.
===========================
Future City Key and the Escape Skill:
Once you finish the Old Book quest and gain access to Future/Cyber City you will be able to enter and begin searching for the 5 Future Key Cards. Once you find all 5 Key Cards you will be able to access other areas of Future City, one of which containing the Escape Skill. *Level 500 is required to use this skill* (Note: While most Key Cards will be found in the city, a few may be found in other areas of KDW.)
===========================
Puzzle Chamber:
This quest is also a puzzle, simply go to Duck Mountain in Duck Land and you'll be put through many rooms to get prizes in what's known as the Puzzle Chamber. As you go through the chambers you'll actually pick up many prizes on the way, however the true prize is at the very top, the power of light.
===========================
Wam Bam Cave:
Another ruin like area, simply head into Wam Bam Cave which is close to Mt. Dyna and the quest begins. In the end you'll get a key that'll allow you to unlock one of the best shops in the game.
===========================
Crystal Shard:
Just like in Kirby 64, you can find Crystal shards all over KDW. Once you get 500 you will then be able to make the Full Crystal. This is a strong weapon, that gets stronger when you level up your attack power.
===========================
Help Trade Quest:
Not really major, but it is a big one. To start this quest go to the building by the waddle bandits just west of Cappy Town. There are actually two help trade quests but only one of them will give you the prize, a gun.
===========================
Golden Gun:
This quest was made by Dr. Doom, and was based off of 007. For this quest you just need to find all the parts of the Golden Gun, then build it. This quest gives you one of the strongest items in the game, and you need 500 attack power to use it.
===========================
Crash Kirby:
A quest you start by going into a secret room in the shop. It has you going around all of KDW collecting items to unlock the Crash Kirby, a level 500 skill.
===========================
Murder Mansion:
There's actually 3 sets of quests here. The first quest is from 2006 but simply a search for keys to open a few locked rooms. For the 2007 quest you simply pick up the first scroll you see when you walk in the door and it'll lead you allover the house as you try to solve clues. As for the 2009 quest, simply head down stairs and pick up one of the pieces of papers on the floor. Clues from the 09 quest will mostly be marked with "[09]" to let you know.
===========================
Legend's Cafe:
This quest has you trying to solve the mystery of what happened to the people who vanished many years ago. However once the mystery is solved, a full quest opens up which takes you through mazes and through some unexpected places. Once you solve the mystery you will unlock a legendary ring known as the "Cake is a Lie."
===========================
Dragon Armor:
To start this quest simply go to the underground area in Seaside Fields. This quest has you going all around the world in search of scrolls to open the way to the Dragon Armor.
===========================
Star Belt Gem and the Hidden Forest:
The Star Belt Gem quest is one of the hidden quests in KDW. To begin this quest you must first head to the Forest Village and find the hidden passage that leads through the trees. At the end of this passage you'll be able to access a hidden "back path" which will then lead you to the Hidden Forest. If you can figure out the puzzle, you will be rewarded with the Star Belt Gem. A good belt that also increases your EXP gain.
===========================
Dream Star Rod:
The Dream Star Rod quest can be started by going to the fountain of dreams which is located in space. Once you finish the puzzle located inside and get the key, go to the Great Fox to access other planets. On one of the planets you'll be able to find a new puzzle which will reward you with the Dream Star Rod at the end. Just remember if you do not have the key from the fountain of dreams, you will not be able to get the Star Rod.
===========================
Grave Emblem Quest:
One of the hardest quests in the game, to start this quest you must first find the secret HQ to gain the key to Grave's main HQ. Once you find the key you must then locate the HQ and make your way through one of the hardest areas in all of KDW. In the end, you will unlock the Grave Emblem.
===========================
Bio Metal Quest:
Hidden allover KDW are nine Bio Metals. There's Model X, Z, H, F, L, P, W, A, and O, and by owning all of them, you can become one of the strongest players in all of Dream World! Be warned, they are not easy to find, and they are all required if you wish to be able to use the ultimate model O!
===========================
Shadow Shards:
Hidden throughout KDW are shards known as "Shadow Shards." They appear to be the broken pieces of something, but what? Maybe if you take them to the Book Repair Shop you can learn more.
===========================
Golden Amulet:
This quest has you searching major areas in KDW for two pieces of a Golden Amulet. Once you have found all pieces and completed all Amulets, you can then go onto your prize.
===========================
Legendary Test:
As talked about in another FAQ, this quest has you going around completing other quests and finding items in order to reset yourself to level 1. For more information check out the Legendary Test FAQ.

http://kirbysdreamworld.blogspot.com/2014/03/legendary-test-guide.html
===========================
Well that's it for the list. Just keep in mind that there are MANY more quests in KDW, but these are some of the basic ones. Also if anyone wishes to create a full FAQ for each of these quests, be my guest!

A. Intro
==========
Hello everyone this is Legend, I'm the head creator of Kirby's Dream World, and this is a guide to help all of you out. Now at first the game can seem hard but once you get used to it, it becomes easy. This guide is ment to help everyone get started with the game in the best way I know how. I'll be talking about different tricks and scerets in this guide as well! So make sure you read carefully. Anyway lets get started with this guide.

==========
B. Stats
==========
In KDW we have four different types of stats.

Sword(STR):
This is to level up your attack power. This may be the most important stat in the game.

Shield(DEF):
This is your defence. The higher this is, the less damage you will take. This stat is very important as well. Some may say this is the best stat, but it all depends on the player and what kind of build you are going for.

Boot(Speed):
This stat is a very usefull one but only for the first 30 levels. This stat increases the chances you will hit something, and also when you get it to level 20 you will get 2 stat points per level, and at level 30 it will give you 3 stat points per level.

Blue Sphere(Special):
This increases your MP and special attack. This stat is only good if you will be using a lot of skills, but for the most part KDW is a melee/gun game. Even so some people still like to use skills and if you are one of them, then this is the best stat for you to level.

===========
C. Guide
===========
Ok so let's get started with this guide. Remember you do not have to follow this 100% but please keep in mind some of the things I do because it can really help you out.
----------------------------------------------
Character:
----------------------------------------------
When starting the game I decided to pick a Knuckle Joe as my character. Now all of the characters are good, but I have always felt that Knuckle JOe has the best features. First of all Knuckle Joe starts out with high attack power, and good defence. The second reason I picked Knuckle Joe is because he can climb up rocky areas. This skill really helps out at the lower levels of the game! (Also please remember that you can class change in the game. It just costs money). Anyway, this part is really up to you so pick what ever class you feel is best.
----------------------------------------------
Fast leveling/Shyguys:
----------------------------------------------
Ok after making the character you will appear in the Hang-Out. This area is the best to level at low levels because you do not lose EXP when you die here, however for now it would be best to level the fast well. Head to the map to the north which should be the fields. Every 5 minutes a monster called "White Shyguy" will appear here. There are 5 of these hidden in the game, and all of them give a lot of EXP. If the Shyguy is there and you kill it, you should get enough EXP to be level 6 or 7.

---------------------
NOTE: Remember until around level 25, add all skill points into the speed stat. The goal is to get 30 speed so that you gain 3 skill points per level. In the end this really will help you out since you will be able to level more stats.
---------------------

If that Shyguy was there or not, doesn't matter. If you killed it great, but if not let's just go on to the next one. The next Shyguy is south 2 maps from the park (the park is a map to the left of the Hang-Out). This area is filled with strong monsters but if you keep at it you will be able to make your way around the mosnters and get to the Shyguy. If you were able to kill both of these you should be level 9 or 10 by now. If you are close to 10, go ahead and kill Waddle Dees until you are level 10.

As for the other Shyguys they can be found in the woods, icetown, and the desert. I wouldn't worry about the one at icetown for awhile, but to get to the one at the desert simply go right 4 maps from the Hang-Out. Now this area will be filled with monsters but if you are a Knuckle Joe you can climb on the wall to avoid being hit. Once you are on the wall, get the monsters to chase you to one side, then hurry up and run around the monsters and kill the Shyguy.

The Shyguy in the woods is also a tricky one to get to at your low level. To get to this Shyguy go to the woods, go as far left as you can, go down a map and to the left again as fast as possible. If you are fast enough you can avoid being hit. Now you should see the water. If so head a map down and you'll see the Shyguy.
----------------------------------------------
Items:
----------------------------------------------
While you are leveling, and going after the Shyguys it's best to pick up everything you can find. You'll see stars, apples, old pages, Chaos Emeralds, and crystal shards. All of these items will be needed later on.

As for stars, they are the money of this game so you will need a lot of them to buy what you need.

Apples are the healing items of the game, so by picking these up and using them, you can keep yourself alive a lot longer.

Old Pages are for a quest. You will need 50 in all so you might as well get started as soon as possible.

Crystal Shards are also a part of a quest. In this quest you need 500 of them to get the full crystal which is a very strong gun. This quest will not be beat for awhile, but it's best you start now.

Chaos Emeralds, once again, are for a quest. Find all 7 of them to unlock one of the strongest swords in the game. You'll be able to find a few of them around town so make sure you pick them up if you see them. It will save you a lot of trouble later.
----------------------------------------------
Blast Items:
----------------------------------------------
Ok the Blast Items will really help you out from the very start. To get these you will need to run as fast as possible through Wam Bam Cave and just pick them up. Wam Bam is located to the east of the cafe. In the map before Wam Bam you'll see a car which will take you to an island. If you head to the island you will see a spawn point which will really help you out at this part. Simply step on the spawn point and then get back in the car.

Now the goal here is to go into Wam Bam Cave, go south 1 map, and then west one. In this map you will see at the bottom left 2 items sitting on the ground. Hopefully you will be able to run around all of the monsters and get the items before you die. If you can it will really improve all of your stats. This is a very good way to become strong early on. Once you have these items about 70% of the monsters you have ran into, cannot even harm you anymore.
----------------------------------------------
World Trade Quest:
----------------------------------------------
You will most likly need help on this quest but you might as well start it.

If you go 1 map to the left of Justice Street you will see a lot of Bandits and 2 houses. Try to outrun the bandits and go to the house at the top left of the screen. In this house you will be able to take the world trade quest.

Now this quest takes you to some places that are to strong for you, but with the help of other members, you will be able to do it with out too much trouble.

At the end of the quest you will get a gun which helps out quite a bit at early levels.

----------------------------------------------
Hidden Areas (Extra):
----------------------------------------------
KDW has many hidden areas through out the game. These areas are normally just for fun, or sometimes they are maps from older versions that were removed from the real game. However some of these hidden areas are very useful as well.

Sometimes in hidden areas you will be able to find very strong items, money, or keys to open new rooms, and inside of these rooms the keys unlock you may find even more stronger items. Really hidden areas are sometimes the best areas to go to just because they might make you a LOT stronger!

Some areas that might be worth checking out include the past KDW maps which can be found in Legend's Food Bar, the S.S. Legendary Ship, the back path that starts out in Sea Side fields, and Legendary Base.

If you are able to find these areas, they might help you out a lot. Some of them have large amounts of money hidden in them, and others have rare items. So find these locations as soon as possible. They might really help you out!

----------------------------------------------
What next?:
----------------------------------------------
Well after getting past level 10, and getting the Blast Items, what you do next is up to you. You might want to start saving up for some better items in the shop, or you might want to start exploring. Either way it doesn't really matter. How you play this game is up to you! However you might want to get to at least level 30 before exploring too much. To get to level 30 (or higher) just keep killing the Shyguys. Once you are a high enough level you can then move onto mobs of stronger monsters that give out good EXP (such as the Waddle Bandits). Also why not try looking for some of them hidden areas? Who knows, they might make you stronger and richer than you ever expected to be!

Anyway good luck everyone!
